MY DEVELOPMENT WORK IN ACTION

Ana Jaqueline (River Song, rs)

There’s a long time I posted something here. Because I felt I didn’t have enough material to show, but today I’m feeling more confident to show you a little bit about what my students are doing in my English classes and also at home, as home groups, inside my Development Work: “SOU ALUNO DE ESCOLA PÚBLICA NA PARAÍBA. (NÃO) POSSO FALAR INGLÊS?”

The beginning was so hard, and it still are. My new school doesn't have available wi-fi for the students. The school does not even have a projetor, so, my inicial idea to make one game at Kahoot! tool and to work with a Padlet quiz, as well, had to be postponed, since we find a solution for this issue.

But the work could not stop. I am a teacher, and I'm used to have a plan B, and a plan C, or D, if it's necessary. So, I had to start to develop my DW (Development Work) by the creation of the home groups' blogs. Explaining to students what they had to do, why to do and when to do, related to the blogs' creation. And how I did it? This way:

I made some powerpoint slides and presented them to my students through my laptop scream itself. I gathered all the 15 students in front of the class and showed them, step by step, how to create their blogs. So, I ask them to create their blogs at home. And so they did it.

That was the way I found to do the work: step by step, as I learned with my Finnish teachers, "collecting the fruits" with much patience.

So, these were my first steps to begin this DW.
Next week I'm going to post a little bit more about it. Be alert!!!
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please do it here! I'm excited to see your contributions!

Thank you so much for reading.

See you soon.
